I'm Gonna for a Drive on Every Avenue...

Every Avenue!  These guy won't let you down!  You might've heard their latest single, "Tell Me I'm a Wreck", on the radio.  Every Avenue was formed in 2003 in Marysville, Michigan and their debut album, "Shh.  Just Go With It.", hit the number 27 position on the U.S. Billboard Heatseekers Chart.  Since then they have released another album called, "Picture Perfect", which reached 136th on the Billboard's Top 200 chart, 2nd on the Billboard's Heatseekers Chart, and 20th on the Billboard's Independant Album Chart.  These guys are for sure an upcoming band to watch.  After I've listened to almost all of their songs, they have never failed to make me want to sing along with their music.  The will also be appearing at Van's Warped Tour in 2011 and have stated that they WILL being playing every event!

Give them a listen!

Ready? Set? GO!

I’ve got a “Love Like Woe” for this guy!  With a sound like Never Shout Never how can you not be in love with this?  It’s an interesting situation he has going.  His name is Jordan Witzigreuter but his “project” is called, The Ready Set, he used the name so there would be less confusion with his last name.  You might have heard his most famous song on the radio, “Love Like Woe”.  He was signed by Decaydnace Records, which is Pete Wentz’s label, on November 24, 2009.  After this merger Wentz helped The Ready Set release his first new studio album.  Jordan was also featured as the MTV “Push” artist of the week, he also had the honor of being MTV’s artist of the month, and he was one of the acts on the “MTV VMA Tour”.  His sound just makes want to cuddle!  Give this guy a listen!  He will also be on Van’s Warped Tour!  So if anyone’s going to that you can be sure to see him there!

Senses Still Haven't Failed Me

Being a fan of Senses Fail for some time now, I've come to love everything they have to offer.   With their newest album that came out near the end of last year, it's safe to say I'm still not worn out.    Granted, "The Fire" doesn't expend on Senses Fail's sound any - it just highlights why they're already successful.   From the opening, album-titled track, you hear an excellent blend of sounds (aggressive guitar, chanting vocals) with rather haunting lyrics to accompany - "It's ok to feel lost, it just means you're alive."   Throughout the album, you really feel like there's a fire.    It's exciting, it's hot and it makes you want to play/sing/scream along with everything you've got.   And then the final song "Hold On" catches you and leaves you with a nice little paradox to "hold on and let go".     So, if you're a returning fan or just want to give them a try, I highly recommend this album to you.    Go ahead, I promise your senses will do anything but fail you.

Who's F*cking Perfect?

P!nk , if you ask me!  I know, I know, this song is kind of on the touchy side but it’s still a great song!  I understand that P!nk is jumping on the “misunderstood” thing like Lady Gaga, Ke$ha, and Katy Perry but this song is one of the best in my personal opinion.

“The whole world's scared so I swallow the fear
The only thing I should be drinking is an ice cold beer
So cool in line, and we try try try, but we try too hard and it's a waste of my time
Done looking for the critics, cause they're everywhere
They dont like my jeans, they don't get my hair
Exchange ourselves, and we do it all the time
Why do we do that? Why do I do that?”

Like P!nk says,  “You’re f*ucking perfect.”  Stay real people and don’t ever forget who you are.

Canada Doesn't Just Produce Hockey Players

Two words:  Marianas Trench. (No, not the actual trench.)    Sound familiar?    If not, shame on you.    Comin' straight outta Canada, this pop-punk group has taken the US by storm seemingly overnight.   What does this mean for you?    They're finally touring in the states!    Now, the only dates released are February and early March, but if you want to know more check out their website (www.marianastrench.net).  Sadly for me, no venues near Kansas yet.    But I'm keeping my eyes open for the first opportunity!   I DON'T want to miss these guys live.

Also, check this video for their song "Good To You"!     You won't be disappointed!

What's New in Politics?

What’s New in Politics?  New Politics!  If you’re into pop punk, these guys are the guys to listen to!  You might have heard their most popular song, Yeah Yeah Yeah, on a recent Dell XPS commercial!  They were recently named one of MTV’s Artists to Watch in 2011.   These guys originated from Denmark but later moved to Brooklyn and use their unique style to make your ears wanting more!  These guys are like an orgasm to your ears!  I mean, how can you not love a band that can rap and start a mosh pit in the same song?  You better believe me when I say that I’m going to road trip to their nearest venue!

Their closest concert to Kansas is in Omaha, NE on March 15, 2011 at the Slowdown Rock Club and Bar!
